We wish to thank the Siparia Regional Corporation and Anthony Commissiong for hosting the Siparia Games 2018 on Saturday April 21, 2018 at Irwin Park Cycling Track, Siparia. Without these generous hosts we would not have racing. The meet featured a full card of racing, from the Under 7’s to the Masters 70+.
Marlon Joseph recorded two 2nd places in the Masters 40+, one in the 4 lap event and the other in the 6 lap.
In the Masters 50+ Wayne Samuel was 1st in the 4 lap and the 6 lap. Martin Wharwood had two 2nd place finishes behind Wayne in the same events.
In the Masters 70+ Joey Nunes managed two 3rd place finishes, one in the 2 lap and one in the 4 lap.

The last day of racing at the Easter Grand Prix saw some strong performances by our Hummingbirds.
A summary of the club results for Saturday (Day 2), are as follows:
Our pick for the most outstanding Master for the Easter Grand Prix is Wayne Samuel. On Friday he won the 4 lap and placed 2nd in the 6 lap. He returned on Saturday and was unbeaten in the 3 lap and the 5 lap. Congratulations to Wayne on an outstanding performance!

Our cyclists are off to a good start with multiple podium finishes.
In the MASTERS 40-49, 3 lap event Marlon Joseph was 2nd and in the 2 lap event he managed a 4th.
In the MASTERS 50-59, 4 lap event Wayne Samuel was 1st and in the 6 lap event he was 2nd with Martin Wharwood in 4th place.
In the MASTERS 70+, 2 lap event Joey Nunes was 3rd and in the 3 lap event he was 4th.
In the challenging ELITE 1, 10 lap event Sheldon Ramjit was 4th

Marlon Joseph was 2nd across the line in the 1000M for Mens 40- 49.
In the Mens 50 – 59, over the same distance, Martin Wharwood was 1st followed closely by Wayne Samuel in 2nd.

In this 2nd night of back to back racing, our Hummingbirds posted similar results to the previous night’s racing at Skinner Park.
Marlon Joseph finished 1st in the 4 lap and 2nd in the 6 lap for Men 40 – 49.

Joey Nunes was 2nd in both the 2 lap and 4 lap events for Men 70+.

Many thanks to the San Fernando City Corporation and Rigtech Sonics for hosting the San Fernando Cycling Extravaganza at Skinner Park on Friday March 16, 2018. Events were provided for all, starting with the Under 7 age groups, up to the 70+ men.
Our Hummingbirds made a strong showing, with Marlon Joseph finishing on the top of the podium in the Men’s 40 – 49 4 lap event. Wayne Samuel and Martin Wharwood finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Men’s 50 – 59 4 lap event. Joey Nunes was 2nd in the Men’s 70+ 3 lap event.

Our Hummingbirds rode in the North on Sep 24, 2017 on a course set on the Diego Martin Highway.
In the Master 50 – 59 Wayne Samuel was 1st, while Martin Wharwood was 3rd. Nice job owning the podium.

The Irwin Park Sport Complex was the scene of some serious track racing on Friday September 22, 2017. The event was promoted by local area cycling star Njisane Phillip. The Siparia Regional Corporation and the T&T Cycling Federation (TTCF) backed the event. Races were held for the Youth Development – Under 9 through to the 70+ Masters, for a total of 43 events.
Our boys went very well …
In the Men’s 70+ Joey Nunes had two 2nd place finishes.
In the Men’s 60-69, Peter Hernandez had one 1st place finish.
Marlon Joseph had two 2nd place finishes on the night.
All in all, a very successful evening for the club who calls Siparia home!
The T&T National Road Championships wrapped up on Sunday, with the criterium being held at Waller Field, a location normally associated with auto racing.
In the Masters 40+, Breakaway took the top three finishes, pushing Marlon Joseph to 4th. Welcome back to racing Marlon. I am sure it has felt like ages as you recovered from your injuries.
In the Masters 50+ Wayne Samuel was just kept off the top of the podium by Rodney Woods. This competition started on the track and continues.
Peter Hernandez managed a 3rd place finish, behind Stephen Aboud and Robert Farrell. Robert seems to have upped his game since last year.
In the Masters 70+ Joey Nunes was 2nd to Pat Nelson… again.
Other performances worthy of note were, Heatwave sweeping the Elite Men and Enrique De Comarmond of Heatwave continuing his winning ways in the Juveniles.
