Well done boys! Nice start to the track league!by hummingbirdscc
On Sunday Jan 18, the boys enjoyed another day of Road League racing but on by the T&T Cycling Federation. The race started at Foreshore and ended at the Brian Lara Stadium. As in the previous week, there was a large peleton of racers.
The boys showed well, notice Sheldon on the right of the road, in the break away pulling away from the bunch at the feeding station. He was rewarded for his efforts with a 9th place finish in the Elite Category! In the Masters 60 -69, Peter H was in 2nd place! To see all results go to web page “Event Results”
As the video below shows, racing in T&T starts early … to avoid the heat of the day and to keep the inconvenience to motorists to a minimum
At the end of the day, Michael puts things in perspective .. it is about racing hard and enjoying the post ride festivities!
Seven Hummingbirds in various categories raced on Sunday January 11, 2015 in the Trinidad & Tobago Cycling Federation Road League #1 event between Couva and Port of Spain.
Race preparations were perfect as they trained for the ride and arranged the support teams for support vehicles and feeding.
The race started just around 6:30 am and the large peleton of nearly 150 cyclists rolled down the highway in the morning sun.
The race ran along the Chaguanas Highway. Race speeds varied between a very aggressive 65kph to a steady 40kph. A small break away was established early in the race. The race continued along the Freeport flyover.
The picture below shows Randy being congratulated after his first racing experience!
Celebrations and the after race relaxation are also fun parts of the day.
Congratulations to the cyclists, the invaluable support team and the fans!
Yes … Racing is fun!by hummingbirdscc
The boys enjoyed a great training ride on Jan 4, 2015. It is nice to see a large bunch all wearing the purple and gold! Looks like some serious chicken to be cooked for the post ride meal! Ah … the joys of riding … fun on the bike, relaxing after the ride and food! It doesn’t get much better than this.
