Yesterday the boys in purple and gold competed in the Roger Smart memorial sprint time trial around the Queen’s Park Savannah.
The time trial was competed over a single lap of the Savannah. The course was ruled by the young ones, but our boys did very well. Jabari Whiteman a 15 year old on the Junior National Team completed the course in a blistering 4:43 with an average speed of 47.43 kph.
The times and finishing positions of our team members are as follows
Masters 70+ Joey Nunes – 1st, with a time is 6:28
Masters 60 – 69 Peter Hernandez, 2nd behind Cyril Fook, with a time of 5:53
Masters 50 – 59 Martin Wharwood, 5th , with a time of 5:49
Masters 40 – 49 Karamchand Boodram was 10th with a time of 6:07
Elite Men – Sheldon Ramjit was 6th overall, with a time of 4:56
There was also a team time trial, but our boys did not jump into this event. The two lap event was one by the Braves in a time of 9:48. They managed to edge out the Junior national Team by just 1 sec.
