We rode a replacement annual ride as we did not do the Rideau Lakes Tour in June and the GTA Gran Fondo as both were cancelled due to Covid 19.
Maybe we waited a little too late in the season, as starting temperatures were around 3c. There was talk about wearing parkas, but this proved unnecessary as temperatures warmed to an acceptable 15c by the end of the ride.
While the crew was relatively small and we did not have Little Pete and Vernon we had laughs and good steady riding. Lawrence joined us on a classic Moser. It turns out that he has sold his enclosed recumbent. He looked comfortable, despite the literal 10-speed and the ride elevation being over 900M.
The ride was just over 100km’s, with the traditional stop at Musselman’s Lake for an espresso …
We look forward to some good riding outdoors, particularly as the weather turns warm …
